PROCESS

Individual: You are getting ready to go on an excursion to a biome of your choice!

Consider: What area of the earth would your biome be located? What kind of clothing would you require for this trip? What kind of special equipment do you think you would need? How would you use your five senses to explore the area around you? What types of plant and animal life would you encounter? What type of climate would you feel in your biome?

Describe the sights, sounds and smells of your trip. Include pictures or drawings of your location. Give an example of a food chain in this biome.

Group: In the second part of your journey, you will work as a group to compare and contrast two biomes. Make sure to include:

a. Abiotic factors: The non living parts of an ecosystem such as the rainfall and temperature.

b. Biotic factors: The living parts of an ecosystem like the unique species that live there.

c. Compare and contrast things like types, locations, climates, temperatures, habitat, special plants and animals of the biomes.
